Frequently asked questions

The exact questions DTC founders and media buyers ask before hiring an AI UGC studio — cost, quality, turnaround, ownership, and how the system actually works. Answered in plain English so you can compare quickly.

The basics

What is AI UGC?

AI UGC is a user-generated-content-style video ad produced with generative AI instead of a human creator on a shoot day. A studio like FrameGen builds a brand-DNA prompt system, generates a consistent AI creator, and outputs 15–45 second creator-style ads for Meta and TikTok — at roughly 95% less than a $3,000+ influencer video.

AI UGC vs. influencer marketing — what's the difference?

UGC-style ads consistently outperform traditional influencer marketing for DTC brands on three dimensions: cost, testing volume, and creative control. AI UGC is the most cost-effective version of that — a cheap alternative to influencer ads that produces the same creator-style output at roughly 95% less.

Influencer marketing: one creator, one face, one shoot day. A sponsored video typically costs $3,000–$8,000 per deliverable, and every new hook or angle is a separate negotiation. You're also exposed to their calendar, aesthetic drift, and the risk they go off-brand.

AI UGC (user generated content vs influencer marketing): the same creator-style output — a person on camera, talking about your product in native scroll format — but built on a custom AI character locked to your brand DNA. Hook variants are a prompt change, not a re-shoot. A full five-asset package runs around $600 vs $15,000+ from an influencer agency.

The real advantage isn't just cost. It's volume: instead of betting the month's budget on one video, you test 10 hooks at the cost of half an influencer deliverable and let the algorithm pick the winner. Traditional influencer marketing still makes sense if your goal is genuine audience credibility or if the creator's real identity is the product — but for paid social on Meta or TikTok, AI UGC wins on economics.

Will people be able to tell it's AI?

Not if the realism system is done right. The plastic-AI look comes from vague prompts and untextured skin. FrameGen uses a character-lock and material-texture protocol — visible pores, natural imperfections, real lighting direction, and a fixed DNA that stays consistent across shots — so the output reads as native UGC, not as generated content. The AI Realism Playbook walks through the exact system.

Which AI models do you use?

We combine best-in-class models per shot:

  • Seedance 2.0, Kling 3.0 — expressive short-form motion.
  • Runway Gen-4, Veo 3 — cinematic hero shots with camera-move control.
  • Nano-Banana 2 — photoreal character stills and inpainting.
  • Pika 2, Higgsfield — stylized cutaways and effects.
  • ElevenLabs v3 — voice.

We swap the stack as the frontier moves.

Pricing & turnaround

How much does an AI UGC ad cost vs. an influencer?

FrameGen ads start at $140 per B-roll spot and $160 per full talking-head creator ad. A typical influencer UGC video is $3,000+. A full FrameGen package — one base spot, 4 hook variants at $60 each, and a $200 landing page — is $600. The same five videos from an influencer would cost $15,000+.

Do you charge a retainer or per video?

Per video. No retainers, no monthly minimums, no upcharges. Every package includes ad research, scenario writing, the brand-DNA pass, and all model costs. See the full pricing breakdown.

How fast is turnaround?

First-draft delivery is typically 5–7 business days from kick-off. Revisions land within 48 hours. Hook variants ordered on top of a base spot ship in 2–4 days.

How many revisions are included?

Two rounds of revisions are included in every base package. Most projects use one round for pacing and one for copy tweaks. Additional revision rounds are available at a flat rate.

Quality & performance

Do AI UGC ads actually convert?

Yes — when the creative discipline is right. FrameGen clients typically see +63% click-through rate versus their previous creative, roughly 2.8× ROAS at scale, and around −41% cost per click. The lift comes from the ability to test 10 hooks for the price of one shoot, not from AI itself — more shots on goal means a higher ceiling.

How do you handle brand consistency across a whole campaign?

Every project starts by locking a Fixed DNA block — face, skin, hair, lighting, and material references — plus a design system with the brand's palette and typography. Every prompt in the campaign references that DNA. The result: a full ad set looks like one universe, not seven random outputs.

Can you match a specific creator or influencer's look?

Not the actual likeness of a real person — that's a rights problem. What we can build is a custom AI creator that matches an aesthetic (age range, styling, energy, delivery), so your ads have a recognizable face across every hook and variant without depending on any individual.

What formats and aspect ratios do you deliver?

Standard delivery is 9:16 vertical for Reels, TikTok, and Stories, plus a 1:1 or 4:5 cutdown for feed placements. 16:9 horizontal cutdowns are included on the talking-head + B-roll package. Custom aspect ratios can be added on request.

Working with us

Who owns the final ads and can I run them anywhere?

You do — full commercial rights to run, edit, and repurpose across Meta, TikTok, YouTube, and any other placement. Raw shots are delivered alongside the edit-ready MP4 so your editor can cut new versions internally.

What do you need from me to get started?

Three things:

  • Product images and any existing brand assets.
  • A short brief on your target customer and one or two winning ads you've seen in the niche.
  • Any voice or tone guidelines.

FrameGen handles ad research, script writing, scenario planning, and the brand-DNA build from there.

Do you work with brands outside the US?

Yes. FrameGen is based in Warsaw and operates as a worldwide remote studio. Most current clients are DTC and Shopify brands in the US, UK, Canada, and Australia. Voice output is available in English by default with additional languages via ElevenLabs on request.

Can you also build the landing page my ad points to?

Yes. The Landing Page add-on is $200 and delivers a mobile-first, fast-loading conversion page matched to the ad creative and brand DNA. It embeds a hero video, product stills, and a clear CTA. It's designed to catch the clicks your ads send instead of pushing them into a generic product page.

How do I book or ask questions?

The fastest way is Instagram DM at @frame.gen.studio — replies within about two hours during working hours. You can also drop your email in any form on framegenstudio.com and we'll follow up with a scope and quote.
